LCD screens are easily damaged by harsh pressure, chemicals, even tap water, so what can you do to get rid of the fingerprints and dust that accumulate over time?
It's really easy. First, find yourself a nice clean soft cloth (an old cotton handkerchief or a soft microfiber cloth would be perfect). Don't use paper towels, tissue paper, or even terrycloth towels as they may scratch the delicate surface. Mix equal parts of distilled water and white vinegar or iso-propyl (rubbing) alcohol. Turn off your screen so you can see the smudges and spots better. Never spray any liquid directly on the screen. Spray the solution on your cloth or dip it and wring it out well. Apply light pressure as you work your way across the top and down the screen. Allow to air dry.
